You can seek help through MECS if you’re experiencing any of the following:
- Red, inflamed eyes or eye pain
- Dry, gritty, or uncomfortable eyes
- Eye irritation or inflammation
- Significant discharge or watery eyes
- Recent onset of flashes or floaters
- Ingrowing eyelashes
- Sudden vision loss
- Foreign object in the eye
Who Can Use This Service?
MECS is accessible to individuals of all ages.
For patients under 16, an adult must accompany them. You do not need a referral from a GP to access this service.
Booking an Appointment

- Self-Referral: Contact our practice directly by phone to book your appointment. Walk-ins without an appointment are not accepted.

- Pharmacy Advice: For milder symptoms, you may be directed to your local pharmacy for over-the-counter treatment options.
